USDT is the most common deposit method at crypto casinos, and also the one people lose money on most often — not through gambling, but through sending it on the wrong network.

USDT is not one thing
Tether issues the same token across several blockchains. The balance in your wallet might say “USDT,” but the network it sits on determines the fee, the speed, and crucially whether the casino can receive it.

Which to use
TRC-20 for most deposits. It’s near-free, fast, and supported by essentially every crypto casino and exchange. For a $100 deposit, paying $8 in Ethereum gas is throwing away 8% of your money before you’ve placed a bet.
ERC-20 only when you have no choice — some platforms still only accept it. If you must, check gas prices first and consider waiting; Ethereum fees fluctuate hour to hour.
Solana and Polygon are cheap and fast, but support is less universal. Check the casino lists them before sending.
The mistake that costs people money
Here’s the one that matters: ERC-20, BEP-20 and Polygon addresses all start with 0x and look identical.
If the casino gives you an ERC-20 deposit address and you send BEP-20 USDT to it, the transaction will succeed on the BNB Chain. The funds exist. But they’re sitting at that address on the wrong network, and the casino’s system isn’t watching that network.
Recovery depends entirely on whether the operator controls the private key for that address and is willing to help. Some will, as a manual support job. Many won’t. Assume it’s gone.
The address looking correct tells you nothing. Always match the network dropdown on the sending side to the network the casino specified.

Depositing safely, step by step
- On the casino, select USDT and note which network it asks for
- Copy the deposit address using the copy button — never type it manually
- In your wallet or exchange, select USDT, then select the matching network before pasting
- Paste the address and verify the first four and last four characters against the casino’s
- Send a small test amount first if it’s a new platform — $10 to confirm the path works
- Once it arrives, send the rest
The test deposit costs you a dollar in fees and eliminates the entire category of risk. On a first deposit to an unfamiliar operator, it’s worth it every time.
Memos and tags
USDT on Tron and Ethereum doesn’t use memos. But if a casino asks for a memo, tag or destination tag for any other coin — XRP and XLM commonly do — and you omit it, the deposit lands in the operator’s pooled wallet with nothing identifying you.
That’s recoverable through support, but it means raising a ticket and waiting. Include it.
Minimum deposits
Crypto casinos usually set a minimum in dollar terms, often $10–20. Send less and it may not credit, and may not be returnable.
Also check the bonus minimum separately — a casino might accept a $10 deposit but require $20 to trigger the welcome offer. Depositing $15 gets you playing funds and no bonus.
Withdrawals: the same rules apply in reverse
When withdrawing, you choose the network. Pick the one your receiving wallet or exchange actually supports. Sending TRC-20 USDT to an exchange deposit address that only accepts ERC-20 creates exactly the same problem.
Most exchanges display supported networks on their deposit screen. Check before you withdraw, not after.
